What is Your Favorite Success
Story?
In early 1997, I was appointed to the core team for the Motorola Indy Car Sponsorship
Program. It was a huge undertaking by Motorola and a first in the area of race
car marketing. Motorola had previously sponsored drivers in smaller race circuits
but decided it was not making enough of an impact on the public. The executives
challenged our team to increase consumer awareness, generate brand loyalty,
solidify customer relationships and increase sales through promotions and hospitality.
Our sponsorship team jumped into this new area of marketing for Motorola and
began identifying specific objectives and tactics tied to the date of the inaugural
Motorola 500 race in St. Louis. The race was the kick-off event for the start
of the 1997 Indy Car season and the first race ever sponsored by Motorola.
Results of the inaugural race and a summary of the 1997 season for Motorola’s
Indy Car program exceeded predetermined goals and exposure measurements. In
less than one year, Motorola’s name recognition and public awareness
dramatically increased due to widespread exposure.
What Are Your Hobbies and
Interests?
I enjoy a variety of outdoor activities and particularly those in the warm
weather. I enjoy all of the cultural events Chicago has to offer in the Spring,
Summer and Fall. In addition, I enjoy spending time downtown soaking in the
views of Lake Michigan and the spectacular city architecture. My family now
resides in the Southwest and I get many opportunities to enjoy swimming, rodeos,
hiking up a mountain and driving an ATV over the desert range. When the Chicago
weather turns cold, I like to spend time cooking and creating in the kitchen.
What is the Titles of the
Last Good Books You Read?
One of my favorite books of all time was “The
Great Gatsby” by F. Scott Fitzgerald.
Another fascinating book worth mentioning is titled “The Devil in the
White City” by Erik Larson. It is a dynamic novel weaving history and
entertainment together. This book is based on a true story involving a serial
killer in the city of Chicago during the 1893 World’s Fair.
Who Are Your Favorite Recording
Artists?
I enjoy all sorts of music, in general many classical artists and also current
contemporary artists. I love listening to just about any outdoor concert playing
during the summer season, especially those at Ravinia.
Why Are You a Good
Fit at Tech Image?
I am a good fit at Tech Image because I am a seasoned communications professional
and a team player. My background and experience fits in with the exceptionally
knowledgeable public relations team at Tech Image and with the variety of clients
served. |
